Rae Joyce comics

My incredible friend, writer and artist Rachel J. Fenton (aka Rae Joyce), has been working very hard lately on a multitude of projects, two of which having recently come to fruition in a most beautiful way: two shiny books filled…

A minute of one’s own

The month of March was marked down in my agenda as the month when I do a good round of editing to Eye, my second and very unfortunate book. I don’t have any courses during this month, not of a…

Old vs. new: website logo

I realize that the idea of a logo is to create brand identity and brand recognition, and that is why it needs to be a constant element that doesn’t change much throughout time. However, since I am not a real…

Walls, windows, wool (and snow)

Both Friday and Monday. No school. Bitter sweet. The way everything always is. Not having to go out of the house, being all stocked up on meals (cashew chicken curry leftovers) and treats (chocolate-covered coffee beans), with water, electricity, heat, and Internet working, we've been in no position to complain. At all. > > >

Thrifting magic: 2015 in review

Last year I kept track of all my thrifting on small post-its in my planner. I tried to see what are my patterns—how much I'm spending and what type of things I buy. This did not happen when they were told the white coat they were wearing was a painter's coat, . . . > > >

It is hard to come back to the blog after such a long absence. But I never really meant to abandon it. It just happened that I didn't have the time or the enthusiasm for it for a while. I still am entranced by the work of other bloggers and I know that returning here is happening, if slowly and tentatively at first. I always miss the blog . . . > > >

What I’m learning about technical writing

My summer blogging break (as I'd like it to be known from now on) is still going on, but I wanted to let you know that I have an article up on the technical communication blog of ClickHelp: Learning technical writing: adaptation and evolution. Because even if not all writing is "creative," any writing is a lot of fun. I know, . . . > > >

Summer in (sort of) full swing

Had the first cappuccino-crunch ice cream of the season. It's my favorite flavor of ice cream in the world (by Hershey's, I believe) and I can only find it at an ice cream stand that's open in the summer. Which works fine for me. It's always a treat. Bought a pair of sunglasses, lost a pair of sunglasses, had to order another pair of sunglasses. > > >
